01 The Belgian market
Three regions, three languages
Belgium is a federal state made up of three regions, the Flemish Region, the Walloon Region and the Brussels-Capital Region, and three communities, with Dutch, French and German as official languages. Flanders has five provinces (Antwerp, Flemish Brabant, West Flanders, East Flanders and Limburg) and Wallonia five more (Walloon Brabant, Hainaut, Liège, Luxembourg and Namur), while Brussels is not part of any province. A prospect list can be scoped to one region, a handful of provinces or the whole country.
Chemicals and life sciences: a third of all exports
Chemicals, plastics and life sciences accounted for 32.1% of Belgian goods exports in 2025, according to National Bank of Belgium trade data compiled by the sector federation essenscia. The sector employs 97,427 people directly and spent €7.0 billion on R&D in 2025. According to essenscia's 2024 key figures, based on social security (RSZ/ONSS) data for the second quarter of 2024, the province of Antwerp held 37.3% of the sector's jobs, followed by Walloon Brabant (14.2%), East Flanders (11.7%), Hainaut (8.4%), Limburg (6.9%) and West Flanders (6.4%).
The Port of Antwerp-Bruges was the second-busiest EU port by goods handled in the fourth quarter of 2025, according to Eurostat, and handled 266.5 million tonnes over the year. In life sciences, Wallonia's health cluster BioWin brings together more than 250 members, including over 230 SMEs and all five Walloon universities, around biopharma, medical devices and digital health. In Flanders, Biovia was formed in May 2025 from the merger of flanders.bio and MEDVIA. With more than 450 members across biotech, healthtech, agtech and sustainable chemistry, it is one of six spearhead clusters supported by Flanders Innovation & Entrepreneurship.
Industrial and manufacturing: a broad export base
Beyond chemicals, the same National Bank figures show transport equipment at 11.6% of Belgian goods exports in 2025, machinery and equipment at 11.2%, mineral products including refining at 10.2% and metals and steel at 7.1%.
Energy and environmental technology: nuclear phase-down, offshore wind
Belgium produced 73.1 TWh of electricity in 2025, according to Statbel, including 23.8 TWh from nuclear power, 13.5 TWh from wind and 10.5 TWh from solar. Grid operator Elia reports that nuclear still supplied 34% of generation in 2025, even though three reactors closed that year: Doel 1 in February, Tihange 1 in October and Doel 2 in December. The federal government has extended Doel 4 and Tihange 3 by ten years. In the Belgian North Sea, nine offshore wind farms with 399 turbines provide 2.262 GW of capacity, and onshore wind reached about 3.6 GW at the end of 2025. The first 700 MW tender for the second offshore area, the Princess Elisabeth Zone, is set to restart in 2026.
Food and agriculture: €85 billion in turnover
The Belgian food industry had a turnover of €85.1 billion in 2025, exported €42.4 billion and employed 102,779 people, according to the federation Fevia. Food, beverages and tobacco made up 7.5% of Belgian goods exports.
How a Belgian list is built
Choose your unit, describe what you sell and name the regions or provinces you want covered, or the whole country. Nexfield works through all 56 sub-sectors of your unit and returns only companies that are probable buyers, never your competitors. Each row comes with region, city, sub-sector, company size, a priority rating and one sentence explaining why the company belongs on your list.

03 Questions
Questions about Belgian lists.
One row per company: company name, country, region, city, sector, sub-sector, company size, a priority rating and one sentence explaining why the company is a probable buyer of what you sell. You choose the regions and provinces to cover, or take the whole of Belgium. Delivered as an Excel file with filters on every column.
The four live units: industrial and manufacturing, energy and environmental tech, pharma and life sciences, and food and agriculture. In Belgium that typically means chemicals and life sciences, which account for about a third of exports, a broad manufacturing export base, energy from the nuclear phase-down to offshore wind, and a food industry with €85 billion in turnover. Construction and logistics are launching soon.
The Test is a sample of the real list: about 8 to 12 highly matched companies in Belgium, in the same Excel format as a full order, for one fixed price of €99 with no subscription. If it fits, the Local package (€950) maps the rest of the country.
The list is about companies, not people: every entry is researched by our AI and confirmed in public sources, and it contains no personal contact details and no email addresses. You remain responsible for how you contact the companies, as set out in section 8 of our terms and conditions.
Businesses in Belgium with a valid VAT number pay 0% Dutch VAT: the VAT is reverse-charged. Prices are always shown excluding VAT.

An AI company with engineering roots.
